Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Speech sounds are originally wideband signals. The telephone system of today deals with the speech sounds as if it were band-limited from 300 to 3400 [Hz]. It causes some issues, e.g. speech sounds are hard to understand, especially in elderly persons. In this paper, we proposed a method for improving speech quality by estimating missing high frequency components with previously created database. That is based on assumption components between lower frequency and higher frequency have strong correlation. We examined the effect of speech sound quality by subjective assessment and objective one. |
