Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a study on the three-dimensional electromagnetic articulograhy designed for the observation of articulatory movements during speech production. Magnetic field in our method is represented using the spline function by interpolating given calibration data samples. The position of the receiver coil is then determined so that the difference between measured signal strength and predicted one, obtained by the spline field representation, is minimized. Experiments showed that the error in the position estimation is less than 1mm when the direction of the receiver coil is the same as that of the calibration data samples.
