Design of NRD Guide Mode Suppressor for Suppression Undesired Modes

Abstract(in English) A new type of NRD guide mode suppressor was devised. Generation of undesired modes such as a quasi-LSM_<11> mode and a quasi-LSE_<01> mode in an NRD guide circuit have been investigated at 35GHz, and a method to design an NRD guide mode suppressor, eliminating the undesired modes by using □/4 choke circuits, has been successfully developed. Based on a theoretical investigation, it was however obvious that the undesired modes parasitically generated in the 60GHz NRD guide. With this in mind, we developed a new mode suppressor by using an L-shaped slotted stub array. An undesired mode suppression of the new mode suppressor was 10dB higher than that of the previous mode suppressor.
