Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We propose a novel framework for massively multiple player online games (MMOG), which can deal flexibly with the expansion of game worlds and growth in players. Since the framework provides a mechanism for creating one vast game world on top of multiple computers, application developers do not need to partition a game world into sub-worlds. The framework uses the concept of interest management to build game networks. Game networks are composed of two networks. One transmits messages whose latency must be small. The other transmits messages for game data management whose latency need not be small. By dividing a game network into two, messages are communicated efficiently and application programmers make less effort to manage consistency of game data. Since the framework also supports the change in a network topology, it can deal flexibly with the change in the number of players and computation load. |
