Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our proposed method, the "Replication Buffering Relay Method, " offers no-data-loss replication and eliminates distance-to-backup limitations. In this paper, we measured response times for a simple write pattern and for a test program that emulated a business application. Our results show that Replication Buffering Relay Method successfully replicates synchronously, and that its response time is faster than that of synchronous replication when backup sites are at the same distance. But, the Replication Buffering Relay Method needs some time until the system resumes services in the back-up site. To resolve this problem, we propose an approach of shortening the disaster recovery time in the Replication Buffering Relay Method. This approach achieves that the backup-site server can use the backup-site storage before the data transfer from the Replication Buffering Relay unit to the backup site storage completed.
