Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Demand for storage capacity increase rises in recent years, and the increase of the management cost becomes a problem. We are developing the organic storage system administrated by autonomous control. In this article, we propose the management technique to decrease power consumption and generation of heat in large-scale hardware. We assume the application that the access frequency is small and access skew is big like the archive usage. We adopt the method combining using the mode shift and the control techniques with the electric power and temperature information on HDD. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposal technique, we simulated it.
