A method of predicting VOD traffic using time series data for number of requests

Abstract(in English) For cache system design in video-on-demand systems, it is effective to predict how many requests will occure in the future. We propose a method of predicting the number of requests. In this method, we represent the number of requests as a function of time by considering how users request video contents. We develop a method of calculating the coefficients of the function from the series of the number of requests and estimating the number of requests in the future. We also evaluated the convergence and calculation time. The results show that the calculations converge and the calculation time is less than 115ms.
