Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When the OFDM technique is employed in the mobile communication systems, the accurate channel estimation method for each OFDM symbol is essential for achieving the potential bit error rate performance (BER) under the time-variant fading environments. Although the pilot signal assisted method is usually employed to track the time-variant fading channel, the efficiency of system performance would be degraded because of using the redundant pilot signals. This paper proposes a novel channel estimation method, which employs the time domain maximum likelihood (ML) method with decision data in the estimation of time domain channel impulse response. The feature of proposed method is to enable the accurate channel estimation symbol-by-symbol without assistance of pilot signal in the time-variant fading channel. This paper presents the computer simulation results to verify the effectiveness of proposed method.
