Abstract(in English) This paper deals with the L-band and Ku-band satellite diversity (Sat. D) system and time delayed diversity (TDD) system and TDD/Sat. D system characteristics, which is measured by using the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites in Sapporo and Asahikawa cities. Even though the difference of city constitution, relative common satellite visibility improvement characteristics can be obtained for 3~5 minutes delay times, and satellite visibilities can be improved about twice. In the Sat. D system, about twice satellite visibility without Sat. D system can be improved by adopting the Sat. D system in both cities. By using the TDD/Sat. D system, i.e., additional two channels are added to the Sat. D system, two to ten times visibility improvements can be achieved.
