Measuring Results of Non-snow attached VSAT Antenna Characteristics

Abstract(in English) Recently, Ku-band (14/12GHz band) VSAT(Very Small Aperture Terminal) data transmission services are widely spread. Frequency band above 10GHz rain or snow attenuations are severe problem for VSAT services. Especially, snow attach on the antenna main dish is caused large signal attenuation, because of main beam shift due to the snow. To overcome those problems, non-snow attache antenna is designed by Satellite Network, and measured by HIT in Sapporo. As a result, snow attach on the dish can not observed in winter. Furthermore, this antenna can be endured Typhoon No.18 with 52m/s wind speed in 2004. This result means the stiffness of the antenna from mechanical view point.
