Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new browsing method for information search in Web environments by relating a continuous zooming operation to a search result window. "Zooming Cross-Media, " which achieves LOD (level of detail) control and media transition by using zooming operation, is applied to this method. Important parts of each Web page or representative pages of each search result category are displayed in an initial window. Detailed information is gradually displayed as the zooming operation continues. This method can display text and images simultaneously in a proper style. This can lead to efficient and effective information search without a loss of browsing context.
