Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The words/syllables in signed languages are composed of, at least, the handshape, movement, and location components. It is often the case that some componential elements all band together to create a well-formed syllable. To discuss the interactions, we need to handle qualitatively different components all together in a uniform manner. This paper proposes the concept complexity, and shows that how well the complexity-based approach can explain the interactions of the componential elements.
