Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the development of the communication measures such as internet or mobile mails has brought so much benefit to the auditory handicapped people. But regret is that in spite of the development of these technologies, the manuals for utilizing them still remain very complicated and hard to understand. We think this problem is due to the general misunderstanding which information can be conveyed to these people completely by "texts". But the truth is that the required media or way of communication varies depeinding on the degree of the handicaps, or what kind of educations they received. For the people who have difficulty in hearing, the sound would be necessary. For the person who learned the oral method, it should be movements of lips. For those who learned sign language, yubimoji-the Japanese Hand Alphabet or cued speech, the movement of hands and fingers should be required. We believe that today's marvelous technologies of multimedia would work for the various kind of auditory handicapped people, to provide the information equally.
