Experimental Study on Some Problem of Serious Handicapped People When They Participate in The Community Through An Internet

Abstract(in English) Aiming at realization high quality social welfare services and development of the system which elderly and handicapped people can easily participate in the local community through the network, the local intranet were established in the Asahikawa area in Jun. 2000. These are gigabit network and constructed with a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing), and CATV network, supported by TAO (Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan). One of purposes of the network, very serious handicapped people participate the social community through the network, for example dispatching themselves information by one' s home pages, and doing the tele-work on the network. In this supporting experiment, we can make clear some problem, when very serious handicapped people make one' s homepage and participate the network by themselves home pages.
