Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper reviews business models and the market structures of mobile content businesses, and then considers a next generation market related to mobile phones. Mobile content businesses have been developed rapidly in Japanese market since DoCoMo started i-mode in 1999. On the other hand, those businesses took longer time to be developed in European market. It is supposed that the difference of the market structures caused this. Operators take initiatives to create a new market in Japan, while operators, venders and content providers all approach end-users independently in European market. What will be the next generation market and, how will this difference influence to the next generation businesses on mobile networks? Some hints are got to presume this in reviewing the history of the computer industry. This is because the mobile content businesses are based on "mobile computer industry" that follows Main-frame, Mini-computer and PC industries.
