Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Layered Pure P2P systems, such as KaZaA, participating peers are layered in two type of nodes : Super Node(SN) and Ordinary Node(ON). Each ON connects with one or small number of SN(s), and sends control messages, e.g. Ping, Pong, and Query only to these SNs. SNs construct an overlay network which only includes SNs. Since SNs connect with many ONs without any knowledge of underlay networks, transmission of control messages between two peers in different AS's may cause inefficient message transmission in the underlay network. In this paper, we propose a new network support approach to resolve this redundant inter-AS control message transmission problem in layered Pure P2P system. In this approach, AS routers participate in the P2P systems and control a connection between ON and SN in different AS in the way that it does not admit this kind of inter-AS transmission of control message. This approach can reduce inefficient inter-AS transmission of control messages.
