Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Diffserv is one of the QoS control technologies without complicated forwarding processes in comparison with Intserv. It is expected to improve the network quality and to properly differentiate services. In this paper, we discuss the quality evaluation of IP network and streaming applications when applying minimum rate guarantees in Diffserv AF class. Then, we investigate the impact of this function for the performance of networks and applications. Finally, we propose a effective method for network planning and equipment setting.
