Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper designs and evaluates a selective backpressure control for QoS fairness. In best effort packet networks, the problem for fairness among receivers is that congestion caused by a heavily loaded receiver drops packets of other receivers. In the proposed control, ingress edge nodes filter flows by a backpressure control of egress edge nodes detecting undeliverable packets to achieve fairness among receivers. To make the control effective, they are important both to reduce control packets and to prevent excessive regulations. However, they degrade fairness of the control. We propose optimized designs of two parameters, control-skip of undeliverable packets, and filtering time. The simulation results show that the proposed design can both reduce the control packets by more than 90 % and prevent the excessive regulations, without degrading fairness.
