Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Enterprise networks, which is used to communicate with multiple branch offices in business corporations, is required to provide Quality of Service (QoS). In order to provide such network with inexpensive price, many researchers focus on a mechanism of minimum bandwidth guarantee in the Internet. This mechanism can guarantee the committed bandwidth even in congestion. For such mechanism, RIO(RED with In/Out) is a well-known technology. In RIO, we can provide the minimum bandwidth guarantee by preferential drops of jutted out packets from the committed bandwidth. However, RIO has a problem, in which it is difficult to determine parameters of RIO for each network condition, because there are six parameters. In this paper, we propose a method of the minimum bandwidth guarantee. Our method sends control packets in the network periodically, so that congestion information can be notified quickly. In this proposal, we utilize MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switching), which is a promising technology for backbone networks such as enterprise networks. Through simulations, we show our method can provide the minimum bandwidth guarantee using weights of each MPLS path. And our method also can improve the fairness among MPLS paths.
