Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an Adaptive Battery Conservation Management (ABCM) scheme. ABCM independently sets two control parameters, a sleep-timer and a periodic paging interval, using packet QoS classifications to satisfy its requirements. ABCM has three states: active mode, idle mode and battery saving mode (BSM). In this method, when a MT recognizes a certain period during which the packets are not transmitted or received after a last packet, a MT enters the BSM and tries to conserve the battery. Numerical evaluations show that the proposed method is effective for multimedia mobile communications.
