Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Current mobile networks handle the locations of mobile terminals uniformly, even though many terminals often move together, e.g. mobile terminals on a train or a bus. In our work, one of co-moving terminals create a mobile location area around it and the location management system handles them collectively, thereby the number of location updates can be reduced. However, mobile terminals need an algorithm to choice a location area which moves together with them. We present an efficient algorithm for location management; each mobile terminal uses the connection history which records location areas it passed, in order to know which location area moves together with the terminal. We show effectiveness of our algorithmby various simulation results.
