| Abstract(in English) | Higher moments are important for performance evaluation of interconnected networks, integrated networks of voice and data and multi-hop networks. In this paper, we present an exact analysis for an integrated voice and data wireless LAN with non-persistent carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol to derive the moment generating function of the packet interdeparture time for the output process. The system model consists of a finite number of users to share a common channel. Each user can be a source of both voice traffic and data traffic. The time axis is slotted, and a frame includes two parts: the collision avoidance period and the packet transmission period. The number of slots in a frame can be arbitrary, dependent on the chosen lengths of the collision avoidance period and packet transmission period. The system can support the real-time traffic well by the chosen pulse transmission probability. Numerical examples include comparisons between the single traffic and the multi-traffic system models in term as the coefficient of variation of packet interdeparture time. These results can then be used to evaluate the performance of interconnected networks, multi-hop multi-channel networks or networks of integrated voice and data traffic. |
