Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our proposed handover introduces a new entity: label transit router (LTR) to decrease the setup time of the label switched path (LSP) tunnels by localizing their setup parts and to control LSP tunnels used for packet transfer. LTRs can be arranged anywhere between label edge routers, and they function as transit points of LSP tunnels. We show that our proposed handover can reuse common LSP tunnels for new and old paths of packet transfer, so the signaling overhead and setup time of LSP tunnels are significantly decreased when compared with the conventional handover. In addition, end terminals do not send packets to new LSP tunnels until they receive a notification of setup completion. So, packets are always transferred as QoS-guaranteed traffic, and are not lost during handover. Furthermore. Our proposed handover can be applied to a complicated situation where two end terminals move almost simultaneously.
