Abstract(in English) The first transpacific transmission of 20Gbit/s-based terabit WDM signals is reported. 56 x 21.4Gbit/s (1.12Tbit/s) RZ signals have been transmitted over 9170km using 23nm C-band EDFA repeater and symmetrically dispersion-managed fibre span, envisaging the use of enhanced hard-decision FEC with 7% redundancy.
