Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to specify SIL, in the international standard of IEC 61508 operation modes of SRSs are classified into two categories, low demand and high demand/continuous modes of operation. However, it is not clear which modes of operation should be applied to the protection devices of electric heaters. Then, in the present paper the relationships among failures of the protection devices involving a temperature control and protection devices, and a temperature fuse, demands to operate the heater and the hazardous event, of overheat are studied through advanced fault tree analysis involving sequential failure logic AND-gates (priority AND-gates). Finally, the causation mechanisms of the hazardous event are extracted from advanced fault trees as sequential minimal cut sets.
