Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain sensing system using optical power meters. Most of the FBG sensors reported were used broad-band light sources and optical spectrum analyzer for measurement of Bragg wavelength shift caused by the change of physical measurands, that becomes large-scale and expensive. However, the proposed system using the narrowband laser source of light and the optical power meter can be miniaturized and it is possible to construct it at a lower price. Moreover, the measurement interval can be shortened because of the small processing data, and it is also easy to apply a long-term measurement. This system makes amends for the error of measurement by the temperature with installing FBG for the temperature compensating.
