Abstract(in English) | We propose a generation technique of high stable and high quality 10-GHz optical pulse train based on phase modulation, chirp compensation and nonlinear filtering in conjunction with phase locked loop (PLL). A pulse generator based on our scheme is simple configuration consisting of commercially available optical and electronical components, and therefore, it is cost effective. We show that 2-ps transform limited pulse train is obtained from our pulse generator, and that the extinction ratio and timing jitter of the obtained pulse train are applicable to 160 Gbit/s multiplexing. The external synchronization using PLL suppress the timing drift of the obtained pulse train from our generator by under 50 fs, and the long-term operation of PLL for over 4 ksec was observed. In addition, our scheme has wide range of the operation wavelength covering C-band. |
