Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The high performance optical fibers for telecommunication are usually produced by drawn from preforms that are fabricated in advance by means of CVD or VAD method from chemical reagents and thus the index profiling on preforms is essential in the fiber fabrication process. This report presents a further new technique that uses moving picture pattern adjusting its angle as to eliminate effects of diffraction at each observation point. From an experimental verification, we see a good result revealing a smooth profile that will appear when it is drawn into a fiber and confirm that it may be useful in practical applications.
