Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Photonic gateways, which perform multiplexing format conversions of 40 Gbit/s (4 x 10 Gbit/s) OCDM-to-WDM and WDM-to-OCDM, are experimentally demonstrated. These results have been realized by ultrafast photonic processing such as optical encoding/decoding, SC generation along with spectrum slicing, and optical time-gating. A distinct properties include a strict transparency and potential for the ultra-high-speed operation above multi-tera bit/s. The proposed schemes would become crucial in the future photonic nodes of WAN/MAN and LAN.
