Spectrum undulation of divectly modulated DFB LDs induced by near end reflections

Abstract(in English) The lasing spectra of directly modulated 1.3 μm distributed fee dback laser diodes(DFB LD′s),which are subjected to the near end r eflection,are measured.In the lasing spectra,distinctive undulations due to near end reflections are observed.Not only the spectrum undulation but also the dynamic characteristics change of LD′s are fully explained by a numerical model which includes the e ffect of the chirping and the reflection beat noise.
