Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optically anisotropic polymer film has been prepared by in-situ photopolymerization of aligned UV curable liquid crystals at room temperature. The orientation of the mesogenic of the liquid crystals can be controlled by the same alignment technique as that for the conventional liquid crystals and is maintained even after photopolymerization. We have prepared the optically anisotropic polymer film with Super Twisted Nematic structure, with Homeotropic structure, with Hybrid structure and with differently controlled retardation. These obtained film with high thermal stability can be used as retardation film for Liquid Crystal Displays.
