Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The hybrid integration technology using silica-based planar lightwave circuits (PLCs) with a refractive index difference (Δ) of 1.5% and 1.3-μm wavelength range directly modulated DFB-LDs realizes more compact and more high-bit-rate multiwavelength laser module. By using this technology, we fabricated a very compact 4-channel x 10-Gbit/s multiwavelength laser module. We report that the module operated successfully with a total throughput of 40-Gbit/s over a 10-km transmission.
