Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed the PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) type pump combiner for broad and flat gain Raman amplifiers. In order to deal with increasing pumping light power (according to progress of light source, and use of plural wavelengths), we developed a new structure for connections of PLC waveguides and fibers. With its adhesive-free and MT-like PC (Physical Contact) manner connection, the pump combiner shows good stability for high input power up to 1.2 W.
