Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The analog image is digitalized by the sampling and the quantization. It is well known that the maximum sampling interval is derived by the sampling theorem. However, we cannot know the maximum quantization step. Recently Koshimizu introduces the quantization theorem for image signals, which shows the maximum quantization step for each image signal. According to the quantization theorem, we use the probability density function of image signals to derive the maximum quantization step. We apply the quantization theorem to a lot of natural images and derive those of maximum quantization step. However, the derived quantization step is different from ideal one. In this paper, we propose the pre-processing for the probability density function of natural images. We illustrate the quantization theorem is effective applied to pre-processed probability density function of natural images.
