Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, a method of low delay and low complexity psychoacoustic audio coding is described. Under expansion of digital audio applications, demands for low delay and low complexity audio coding are also expanding. In our low delay audio coding method, we used short length MDCT to minimize delay. And we minimized quality degrading caused by shorter MDCT block by optimizing the coding of side information. We also simplified bitrate control to reduce computational power for psychoacoustic bit allocation, which is often major part of the computational power necessary for the encoding.
