Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Block-Spread CDMA(BS/CDMA) system has received much attention as enabling MUI-free transmission even under the multi-path environment. Although the system is MUI-free, there occurs interference on each data block, and the channel estimation is needed to suppress it. For non-blind type estimation, the transmission efficiency decreases due to transmitting a known training pattern at a specified interval. In this paper, we propose a blind receiver using the EM algorithm (The Expectation-Maximization Algorithm) for the FIBS/CDMA system with a frequency multiplex data block transform. The computation cost can be greatly reduced by applying the algorithm in the DFT domain. The BER characteristics using the EM algorithm are compared with those using a known channel response, and the effectiveness of the proposed receiver is shown.
