Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A filter type pitch detection method for transcription so far reported, uses band-stop type comb filters at the fundamental and harmonic frequencies of each musical scale. Therefore the pitch detection process becomes very complicated, resulting in the low detection accuracy and high computation cost. In order to solve the problem, in this paper we propose a pitch detection method using band-pass type comb filters, called scale separation filters, which have sharp band-pass characteristics only at the fundamental and harmonic frequencies. We show the construction methods of the scale separation filter bank and the scale level detector to enhance the pitch detection performance. We also show the pitch detection characteristics by computer simulation.
