Abstract(in English) This paper describes recent research progress in wavelength converters using quasi-phase matched LiNbO_3 waveguides, as well as their basic operation principle. The device fabrication technology, wavelength conversion of broadband signal over 1Tbit/s capacity, and high resistance to photo-refractive damage using direct wafer bonding technology are described. Variable wavelength conversion using novel multiple quasi-phase matched device is also reported.
