Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We proposed a multi-mode interference photonic switch with partial index-modulation regions (MIPS-P) to realize ultra fast photonic network. We have fabricated MIPS-Ps with InGaAsP/InP so far. It exhibited, however, output-change saturation under current injection due to carrier overflow from the hetero-interface. So, we adopted InAlGaAs/InAlAs that has a larger hetero barrier to suppress overflow, and succeed in improving that saturation problem experimentally.
