Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we present the design of an optical burst switching (OBS) node prototype, which is to be demonstrated in one of the Japanese national projects supported by NEDO. The aim of the 'Photonic Network' project is to show the relatively short-term feasibility of transparent all-optical networks by realizing such a prototype with high concern on its compactness, its power consumption and on the reliability of its components. We detail here the choices of type o f data, label coding technique and node architecture, which fit the best with such characteristics.
