Abstract(in English) | Broadcast-and-select networks using a passive star coupler are desirable candidates for all-optical networks because the node structure is simple and inexpensive and they do not need any routing or signaling procedures. However, the network topology has been assumed to be a single star coupler, so they are applicable only for LAN environments. In this paper, we solve the scalability problem by connecting multiple star couplers with an arbitrary topology. To avoid frame collision at nodes, wavelength selective filters are provided at the input ports of the star couplers. |
