Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this article, we present the directions of researches on the next-generation Internet. First, the perspective of the photonic technologies as an underlying infrastructure of the Internet is explained. Then, through discussions on advantages and disadvantages of the alternative photonic-based Internet architectures, we investigate the future network architecture. Based on those discussions, a strong relation to the adaptive complex system is pointed out. Also, an applicability of biology-inspired approaches to the control of the network, especially, a self-organized sensor network is investigated.
