Abstract(in English) | Mobile Wireless IP Network (MWIN) evolves mobile communications system to integrate various link layer technologies such as 4^ | generation wireless access cellular system with IP layer technologies such as IP mobility management that achieves the E2E principle. Protocols and applications work over these various link technologies but also require responsibility to link layer status in terms of mobile wireless communications. In this paper, we propose and evaluate Link layer API (LAPI) that transmits control information between link layer and upper layers in order to solve that problem. The result of experiments show that protocols with LAPI improve their functions using abstracted link layer control information instead of link specific control information. |
