Abstract(in English) We demonstrate an extremely thin low-cost 10Gbit/s optical receiver module for 10Gbit/s transponders. This module is a surface-mountable, non-hermetic, and optical coupling is butt-coupled. The responsivity a 10Gbit/s receiver module using this WG-PD is 0.97 A/W. The 3-dB bandwidth was 11GHz. The receiver sensitivity was -18.8dBm at a bit-error-rate of 10^<-12>. There characteristics are comparable with those of a conventional butterfly. This extremely thin low-cost module can be use for 10Gbit/s transponders to reduce both size and cost.
