Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Ethernet access networks in which each user has a dedicated IP subnet (broadcast domain), a number of IP addresses should be allocated to user networks. VLAN Aggregation is a method that enables efficient IP address allocation by constructing an IP subnet with multiple broadcast domains. However, routers that support VLAN Aggregation have to manage the information linking users' IP addresses to broadcast domains in which users are located. In this article we discuss an automatic address management method using DHCP, a Proxy ARP method for communications among user terminals, and a router redundancy and load distribution method with VRRP.
