Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper studies a broadband access method of forward links based on an existing cellular system whose carrier has 1.25 MHz bandwidth for each. In multi-cell environment, average data rates per cell by 1.25 MHz carrier were numerically evaluated under a couple of conditions. With an adaptive modulation scheme, it is shown that reuse factor of one (I.e., same frequency band is used for all cells) has highest average data rates per cell, which is 3.56 Mbps (2.85 bps/Hz) at maximum. However, under multi-path conditions, data rates degrade due to self-interference down to 1.75 Mbps (1.4 bps/Hz) with Rake combiner. In this condition, by MMSH frequency domain equalization for SC-FDE, the average data rate improves to 2.8 Mbps (2.25 bps/Hz). Even with the limited peak data rate by 5 Mbps (4 bps/Hz), the average data rate becomes 2.25 Mbps (1.85 bps/Hz), which is 80 % of the maximum.
