Abstract(in English) Recently, an optical splitter of a low insertion loss and a low cost has been quite required for a FTTH (Fiber-To-The-Home). By using a quartz glass substrate and optimizing a waveguide pattern, we have developed a low loss and a low cost optical splitter. Regarding of 1×32 splitter including many Y-branch circuits, we have applied a method using intersectional paths to reduce an excess loss around a Y-branch circuit. We report the fabricated results of 8×(1×4), 1×8 and 1×32 splitter for FTTH.
