Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is believed that a scale pattern of chum salmon contains ecological information representing such as the source river, the rate of growth and so on. In the present paper,an analysis of the scale pattern is developped for the purpose of obtaining the stock discrimination of chum salmon in Japan. The analysis was made by utilizing an auto- correlation coefficient and power spectum as a function of circuli number of scale.Authors emplyed a linear discriminant function with the value of power spectrum as variable. The scales of chum salmon used in the analysis were collected from three rivers(Tshugaruishi,Orikasa and Katakishi rvr.)in Iwate pref.Japan.
