Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Concept of ″Flexible System″ has been studied as a key concept of advanced information systems. However, this concept has not yet been defined as a common one and has been used as a terme to represent an image of the next generation of information processing system. In this paper,to define the concept of ″Flexibil ity″ of lage scale of information systems formally, models of Syste m,Environment and Evolution, which interact each other, are formalized using knowledge representation models. The system is designed, developed and maintained to achieve user′s requirements w hich are defined in Environment model.″Flexibility″ of the System is defined based on the concept of structured stability which represents homeostasis of functionality against variance of system structure and user′s requirements.
