| Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a method to automatically set indexes which describe the content of a baseball video scene using the patternization of scenes and Hidden Markov Model(HMM). As the first step in training process, we patternize every shot in scenes, and express each scene in all videos for training with a seqnence of "patternized data". A patternized data is composed of rectangles with positions of their apexes, some image features and a motion vector. The patternization process is carried out based on moving information of tracking points on frame pictures and image features in the small region around these points. Next, each baseball scene in all videos for training is expressed as a sequence of symbols based on the patternized data of every shot and sort it into "event-indexes" (home-run, single-hit, walk, etc.). And the parameters in HMMs of every event-index are set by training symbol sequences distinguished by their length. Event-unknown scenes are given a event-index using HMM which have been trained. This indexing process is executed based on the patternization of every shot as the training. The proposed method is evaluated by an experiment using seven Major League Baseball video games. |
